Equity Funds- these funds invest in stocks

Money Market funds- these funds buy bonds and CDs from the government and other companies

Fixed Income funds- these funds invest in bonds.

Income funds- these funds try to generate current income for their investors usually through dividends.

Growth funds- these funds invet mainly in growth stocks

Value funds- these funds try to invest in undervalued companies

Balanced funds- these funds invest in a balance of stocks and bonds

Sector funds- these funds invest in companies that are in a certain industry or sector of the economy

Regional funds- these funds invest in certain parts of the world

Large, Medium, and Small Cap funds- these funds only invest in companies that are a certain size

Index funds- these funds mimic an index
